Golden Nugget In AC Holding 'Emergency' Job Fair

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) — Atlantic City's casino industry may be struggling, but one casino is staging an "emergency" jobs fair this week for positions that start as soon as this weekend.

The Golden Nugget is interviewing on Wednesday and Thursday for at least 50 positions, and plans to bring more staff on in coming weeks.

Candidates should expect an immediate interview and audition.

Jobs being filled include dealers, slot attendants, cocktail and food servers, valets, cage cashiers, front desk workers and others.

General manager Tom Pohlman says the casino has gotten much busier in the last month and needs new workers. At least some of the 1,600 workers recently laid off when The Atlantic Club closed last month are expected to apply.

The job fair runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days.
