Glen Macnow To Play Seven Different People In 'The Dining Room'

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Long-time SportsRadio 94WIP broadcaster Glen Macnow is crossing another thing off of his bucket list.

Acting.

"The Prof" will appear in the play The Dining Room, a series of 18 short scenes all set in the same room with different characters in each scene, beginning on Friday at The Players Club of Swarthmore.

Macnow, 61, will be playing not one, but seven different people -- ranging from a 35-year-old hyper-mainiac architect to a 85-year-old grandfather. That means seven costume changes and plenty of various accents.

"I tried out not knowing if I would be good or stink," Macnow told CBSPhilly.com. "I could go on the stage and make a complete ass of myself, but I hope not."

Anthony SanFilippo, who is involved in the play's production, is Macnow's former producer at WIP.

"The other people who are in this, the other seven, are really good actors and know what they are doing as opposed to me," Macnow explained. "They have been very helpful along the way."

The Dining Room opens this weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) and will continue next weekend as well. Macnow had this Sunday's matinee pushed back to 7:00 p.m. due to the Eagles-Seahawks game.
