Girl, 15, Struck By Car Along Roosevelt Boulevard In Northeast Philly

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A teenage girl was rushed to the hospital after she was struck by a car in Northeast Philadelphia Wednesday morning, police said.

The incident happened at about 6:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes of the Roosevelt Boulevard at Ryan Avenue.

According to investigators, a 15-year-old girl was struck by a car in the outer lanes of the Boulevard.

She was taken to Aria Health Torresdale Hospital for treatment of a leg and head injuries.

Investigators said the driver of the striking vehicle stopped at the scene.

According to Ken Gavin, Director of Communications for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, the teen is a student at Little Flower High School.

"School administration has been in contact with the family and everyone is praying for a full and speedy recovery," Gavin said through a statement to Eyewitness News.

The incident remains under investigation.
