The twenty-eight-year-old "Love On The Brain" singer was honored with the Video Vanguard Award, and celebrated with four performances and an over-eager Drake.

RiRi checked Champagne Papi back into the friend zone right quick, but not before he confessed he's "been in love with" her since twenty-two. VIEWS Two material broadcast worldwide.
However, even four performances and an "aww you're sweet, but no" from RiRi to the biggest artist of 2016 couldn't slow the Formation of Beyoncé.

The Video Of The Year winner dropped half of Lemonade on the unsuspecting crowd at Madison Square Garden with maximum slayage. You would have to feel sorry for whoever followed that.

Yes, Britney's return to "Glory" was ok, and a major improvement over her last time on the VMA stage – but it still played a little stiff. The Princess Of Pop writhed around with rapper G Eazy for her latest single "Make Me," but then also lip-synced the hook to G Eazy's hit "Me, Myself & I" not originally featuring her. Did we mention it happened after Beyoncé?
I love Britney but this is like watching a 6th grade talent show after Beyonce. #VMAs

And so goes the 2016 MTV VMAs. Bey slays, Rihanna shines, Britney survives, and Drake gets denied. See you next year.
