Freezing Rain Makes Philadelphia Roads Hazardous
PHILADELPHIA (CBS/AP) — Drivers are urged to use caution across the Philadelphia region where rain could make untreated roadways slick.
The National Weather Service has issued a freezing rain advisory in effect until noon Tuesday for the city and areas around the Interstate 95 corridor.
A freezing rain advisory was in effect for Reading, Allentown and some Pocono Mountain communities until 10 a.m. Tuesday. The advisory ended around 9 a.m. for central Pennsylvania areas. Most of the communities are still trying to recover from the weekend's massive snowstorm.
Ice glazed roads have caused a number of fender benders around the region Tuesday.
The warning extends to pedestrians, who should be aware of slippery sidewalks.
