Franklin Institute Speaker Series Set To Begin
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The Franklin Institute kicks off its Speaker Series tonight.
Dr. Frederick Bertley, senior vice president of science and education at the Institute explains how the museum's speaker series came to be:
"A lot of people don't know some basic things around science, and so we decided to do a panel search out there and get some ideas as to what people are really interested in."
He says the event is so popular that the first event in the series is at capacity:
"The topic will be GMOs. The second one will be February 15th. The topic will be Vaccines: to mandate or not? The third topic on March 22nd is on Life on Mars."
Dr. Bertley adds they'll have another one April 19th looking at Earth-like planets that could support life.
