Former Sixers Teammates Congratulate Andre Iguodala on Finals MVP
By Ray Boyd
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- For Sixers fans, it was a strange experience to see Andre Iguodala win the NBA Finals MVP award on Tuesday night. Some felt joy for a player that they used to root for.
Others might have experienced some jealousy and there are of course those who really didn't appreciate much of what Iguodala brought to the table during his time in Philadelphia.
Whatever you say about Iguodala's game, you can not knock him for his attitude, work ethic or commitment. Those are things that might be tough for fans to witness, but his teammates noticed.
A pair of former Sixers teammates congratulated Iguodala on his accomplishment.
Allen Iverson, one of the greatest Sixers of all-time, played with Iguodala in his younger years. The two formed an exciting tandem that resulted in some electrifying alley-oop plays. A.I. was happy to see what A.I2 accomplished.
Iguodala also received praise from Evan Turner. The arrival of Turner was never seen as a good fit with Iguodala, but the two did lead the Sixers to a playoff run that had the team a win away from the Eastern Conference Finals.
Whether the two were a perfect fit, Turner certainly saw Iguodala as a positive influence.
Iguodala also received a shout out from arguably the most popular figure in Philadelphia sports, former Eagles safety Brian Dawkins.
When Dawkins shows you some respect, you're certainly doing something right.
