Former Fire Department's Treasurer Admits Embezzlement
NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — The former treasurer of the volunteer fire department in central New Jersey has admitted embezzling at least $89,000.
Craig Snediker pleaded guilty in federal court on Wednesday to wire fraud.
The 40-year-old Monroe Township resident admitted withdrawing funds from North Brunswick Volunteer Fire Department Number 3 to pay personal expenses.
Snediker faces up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine when he's sentenced in December.
