Flyers Open Three-Game Homestand Tonight Vs. Ducks

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Flyers open a three-game homestand tonight as they welcome the Anaheim Ducks to the Center.

The Flyers are coming off a couple of weekend losses. On Saturday, they lost to the Rangers in a shootout, 3-2. Then on Sunday they lost on the road to Washington, 3-2.

Philadelphia is 23-19-9 on the season and in seventh place in the eight team Metropolitan Division. With 55 points, they are five points out of the final wildcard playoff spot in the East.

Anaheim is 25-19-7 and, with 57 points, the Ducks are in the third place in the Pacific Division.

These two teams have already met once this season back on December 27th in California. Anaheim won that match-up, 4-2.

Steve Mason is expected to get the start in net tonight for Philadelphia.

KYW's Matt Leon spoke with Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer about the Flyers and tonight's game with Anaheim.
