Flyers Look To Snap Skid As They Host Sabres
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- The Flyers will look to snap a three-game losing streak tonight as they welcome the Buffalo Sabres to the Center.
The latest loss for Philadelphia came on Tuesday night as they fell to Anaheim at the Center, 4-1.
Head coach Dave Hakstol is shaking up the line-up a bit as he looks to turn things around. Forwards R.J. Umberger and Jordan Weal will be in uniform tonight while forwards Scott Laughton and Matt Read will be scratched.
Steve Mason will get another start in net tonight, but Michal Neuvirth is healthy enough now to serve as the back-up. Anthony Stolarz has been returned to the AHL's Phantoms.
This rough stretch for the Flyers has dropped their record to 23-20-9. With 55 points, the Flyers are seventh in the Metropolitan Division and six points out of the final wildcard playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
Buffalo has just 48 points as a result of a 21-27-6 record, but they have won both match-ups with the Flyers this season. On October 27th, the Sabres won 4-3 in overtime at the Center. Buffalo then beat the Flyers in upstate New York on October 30th, 3-1.
KYW's Matt Leon spoke with Dave Isaac of the Courier Post about tonight's game and the recent struggles of the Flyers.
