Flyers Look to Stop The Bleeding Vs. Red Wings
By Matt Leon
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Flyers welcome the Detroit Red Wings to the Center on Tuesday as they look to get out of what has become a pretty prolonged slump.
The Flyers are 0-3-1 in their last four games and 2-5-2 over their last nine. On Saturday, the Flyers were beat up by Boston at the Center, 6-1. Philadelphia is currently tied with Columbus for fourth place in the Metropolitan Division with 56 points.
The Red Wings are fifth in the Atlantic Division with 57 points. Last time out on Sunday, the Red Wings lost in a shootout, 5-4.
This will be the third and final meeting between the Flyers and the Red Wings this season. The first two took place in Detroit with the teams splitting the games. On October 12th, the Flyers lost a 5-2 decision at Joe Louis Arena. But on December 4th, the Flyers doubled up the Wings 6-3, winning just their second game in Detroit since the 1989-90 season.
KYW's Matt Leon spoke with Dave Isaac of the Courier Post about the match-up with the Red Wings and why the last couple of weeks have been such a struggle for the Flyers.
