Flyers Ink Sean Couturier To Multi-Year Contract Extension

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Flyers announced a multi-year contract extension for forward Sean Couturier on Tuesday afternoon. Couturier was the Flyers' first-round pick (8th overall) in the 2011 NHL Draft.

According to multiple reports, the Courturier's new deal is for six-years worth $26 million.

Couturier, 22, scored 15 goals (career high) for the Flyers last season and registered 22 assists in 82 games.

Couturier's 82 appearances last season marked the second season in a row where he played in all 82 games. He has been a testament to durability as he has played in 287 of a possible 294 games throughout his career.

Throughout his NHL career, Couturier has 45 goals and a total of 118 points.
