Flood And Coastal Flood Advisories Issued For NJ Counties

MOUNT HOLLY, N.J. (CBS) --- The National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory for several New Jersey counties.

The flood advisory affects southeastern Burlington County, Atlantic County, and Ocean County.

The NWS has set the advisory to expire around 1:15pm.

According to the NWS, reports have already been received of over 1.5 inches of rain in Atlantic County. More rain, up to another three quarters of an inch, could continue to fall throughout the morning.

A Coastal Flood Advisory has also been issued from 1 pm until 7 pm, for coastal Atlantic and Cape May counties and Delaware Beaches.

The NWS cautions drivers to avoid areas where the water covers the roadway. The water might be deeper than you think, and it might be deep enough that a car cannot cross safely.
