WARMINSTER, Pa. (CBS) - Authorities in Warminster are investigating the cause of a house fire that injured two people, including a firefighter.

Police on routine patrol discovered the fire on Newtown Road just after midnight.

"Upon their arrival, they had heavy fire through the living room and kitchen area," says Warminster Fire Chief Mitch Shapiro. "They found one adult male unresponsive on the front porch. The police started CPR and the squad transported him to the hospital."

One firefighter was also treated for heat exhaustion, and a kitten treated for minor burns.

The blaze was placed under control in about 45 minutes. The front of the one-story home was damaged.

Shapiro says it appears there was a hoarding type of situation going on inside the home.

State and county officials are investigating.
