Fire Forces Evacuations At Northeast Philly Apartments
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Officials say a fire inside a Northeast Philadelphia apartment building Sunday morning has forced some residents out of their homes.
The blaze began just before 11 a.m. at the Academy Apartments on the 9100 block of Academy Road in the Torresdale section.
Fire crews arrived to the scene after receiving reports of smoke and placed the fire under control very quickly.
One person was taken to the hospital. Their condition is not known at this time.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
