Damaged rowhome in West Philadelphia ruled as arson after body found: police

Man dies in West Philadelphia fire; Officials rule fire as arson

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Officials were on the scene of a house fire in West Philadelphia just before noon Saturday.

The blaze broke out around 11:45 a.m. near the intersection of 54th and Vine Streets. Multiple units were on the scene fighting the fire. 

Once the blaze was extinguished, the Philadelphia Fire Marshal found a 66-year-old man on the first floor of the home. The man was pronounced dead on the scene.

The fire marshal has ruled the blaze an arson and the cause of the fire is under investigation. 

CBS News Philadelphia is told two people are displaced. Officials have not said who they think started the fire.
