Federal Prosecutor: Concert And Promotions Scammer Behind 'Wonder Blunder' At It Again

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- Federal authorities allege a concert and promotions scammer has scammed again. A North Carolina man has been indicted here on charges he duped investors, including three from the Philadelphia area, out of nearly 2 million dollars.
Marc Hubbard held himself out to investors as a promoter to the stars, but authorities allege it was a fraud --a Ponzi scheme.
"Marc Hubbard was promoting, or alleging he could promote concerts for artists like Beyonce, Jay Z, Alicia Keys," says federal prosecutor Jennifer Barry.
Barry says Hubbard also promised investors big returns -- another false claim.
Hubbard is already awaiting trial in Hawaii for what was dubbed the Stevie Wonder Blunder. Federal authorities allege The University of Hawaii was duped into paying $200,000 upfront in 2012 to secure Wonder's commitment, but authorities say Hubbard didn't represent Stevie Wonder --- it was a con.
Hubbard has pleaded not guilty in the Hawaii case, and his attorney says he will plead not guilty in this case too.
