Motorcyclist dies after multi-car crash in near Northeast Philadelphia, police say

A motorcyclist has died following a multi-car crash near Bustleton Avenue and Tomlinson Road in Northeast Philadelphia Saturday afternoon, according to police.

Police said the motorcyclist, a 22-year-old man, was speeding northbound on Bustleton Avenue weaving between lanes and collided with a private car that was going southbound making a left turn onto Tomlinson Road after 3:30 p.m.

The man was taken to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital by medics and was pronounced dead at 4:24 p.m.

Police said four cars, including the motorcycle, were involved in the crash. 

After the initial crash involving the motorcycle and the private car, two cars following the private car collided from the back, police said in the release.

No other injuries were reported.
