Fan's Guide To FirstEnergy Stadium

With summertime comes baseball season. Baseball doesn't have to mean going to a major league game that is expensive, leaving you in traffic for miles or long lines at the concession stand. Minor league games can be just as fun and a lot more affordable. Go see the up-and-coming ball players when they are just starting out. It could be the best time you have all Summer.

FirstEnergy Stadium has been home to The Reading Fightin Phils (Double A Affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies) since 1951. Many famous major league players have played on this field, including Roger Maris, Mike Schmidt, Greg Luzinski, Ryne Sandberg, Ryan Howard and Cole Hamels, and no doubt many more will follow.

Minor league baseball is where many players hone their skills so that someday they may move up to play for a major league baseball team such as the Phillies or the Yankees.

Minor league baseball can be just as exciting as major league baseball and the FirstEnergy Stadium is packed with not just a beautiful ball field, but great food and other activities the whole family can enjoy.

The stadium offers many different packages your family and friends.

Ticketing

There are season tickets that run from $695 to $725 for 71 games. The full list of price packages can be found here. There is the opportunity to purchase a parking spot, which depends on the season package you choose as well. General admission tickets start at $25.

The benefits of buying season tickets or a mini plan include padded seat cushions, an entrance exclusive to VIP members, and personalized tickets that also include a voucher for the concession stand. There's also batting practice in the VIP area, and more. The benefits vary between packages. The concierge experience could include throwing out the first pitch at a game, playing catch in the outfield, a game day tour of the park, and much more.

Where To Eat

You can also enjoy Bunbino's Tailgate at the Coors Light Deck. The picnic atmosphere is a fun place to take a break from the game. The all-you-can-eat buffet is home to the largest hot dog toppings bar in Berks County and should not be missed. The nacho station is also pretty impressive. Other items that can be found on the menu include BBQ chicken, hamburgers, baked beans, potato salad, tortilla chips, cookies and Pepsi products.

Special Events

The Fightin Phils also hold special events and game days throughout the season. In June, enjoy "early Father's Day 50 Phillies Seasons Richie Ashburn" style hats and a dog collar. Bring your camera because it's photo day with the Fightin Phils players. In July, celebrate "Christmas in July Crazy Hot Dog Vendor Elf on Your Shelf Tribute Toy." Happy Hour offers $1.00 off beer and the pre-game concert. Take the kids to the "Kids Happy Half Hour," which includes 30 minutes of free Phunland. Visit the Fightin Phils website (posted above) for more details.

New this year is the Fightin Fan Birthday Package, which is perfect for the summer born kiddies. The package can be customized to every individual fan of any age. Packages start at $99. The package includes 10 green box tickets to a Fightin Phils home game, two parking spaces, a birthday boy/gGirl button, a reserved birthday table in the Phunland area for up to eight kids, a card signed by the players and much more.
