Fairmount Water Works Hosts First FLOW Fest (For the Love Of Water)

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Fairmount Water Works is hosting a party tomorrow and it didn't have to go far for a theme.

This is the inaugural FLOW festival and Water Works spokeswoman Dionne Watts-Williams says it's fun with a purpose.

"Our hope is that, one, this will be an annual celebration of water and FLOW stands for "For the Love of Water," and the goal is to really rekindle the public's excitement about the Schuylkill River and enjoyment of the river."

So FLOW will have places where you can approach and touch it, a splash organ using water to make music, and a fishway replica.

"So it's a little bit of art, a little bit of music, the sciences and, of course, there will be food for everyone. You can't have a festival without food."

The festival is free to attend and it runs from 1 to 7:45 p.m., ending with a light show.
