Enforcement Zones Target Aggressive Drivers In Upper Merion This Week

By Brad Segall

UPPER MERION, Pa. (CBS) - Police in Upper Merion have their sights set on aggressive drivers this week with enforcement zones set up throughout the township and motorists are getting more than just a warning.

On Monday, police were staking out the intersection of North Gulph Road and Mall Boulevard right near the King of Prussia Mall. Police say that area has seen as many as 100 crashes each year for the last three because of drivers running the stop sign. In just an hour, police pulled over nearly two-dozen drivers.

Sergeant Andrew Andreyko says, "Well these are all preventable accidents. They're usually rear-end crashes that can be prevented if people would just pay attention to the sign and not rush."

Police are looking for drivers who are speeding or tailgating or running red lights or stop signs. If you get caught in the enforcement zone, it's not cheap. Citations can run you as much as $150.
