Ed Rendell: I Don't Believe Bill Cosby Will Serve Jail Time
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Former Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell does not think the criminal charges against Bill Cosby in Montgomery County will withstand the scrutiny of a judge.
Speaking with Rich Zeoli on Talk Radio 1210 WPHT, Rendell, who also served as District Attorney in Philadelphia, think's Cosby's accuser stands a better chance in civil court.
"I think he'll get whacked civilly. At this point, given Cosby's age and his infirmity, it's not clear whether any judge would put him in jail, especially since most of these incidents are 20 years ago. This woman might be better off with a substantial civil recovery. She doesn't feel that way. She'd like to see him go to jail. I'm just not sure that given his medical condition, anybody's going to put him in jail, so it might the best result would be a significant civil verdict."
