Ed Rendell: Get Rid Of The Iowa Caucuses
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Former Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell criticized Iowa's caucus system and called for it to be done away with.
Speaking with Rich Zeoli on Talk Radio 1210 WPHT, Rendell said if Iowa can't hold the event without serious mistakes, the state should not hold such a pivotal role in choosing presidential nominees.
"With all the missteps, and last cycle the Republican caucus winner wasn't decided for three weeks. First they said Romney, then they said Santorum and last night there was confusion. We ought to get rid of Iowa's caucuses. It has no business being first in the nation. They can't seem to run a smooth show and their caucus system makes no sense."
