Double Shooting In Eastwick Kills 25-Year-Old Man, Wounds Pregnant Woman: Police

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A man was killed and a pregnant woman was injured after a shooting in Eastwick, according to Philadelphia police. The shooting happened in the 7700 block of Lindbergh Boulevard around 8:35 p.m. Sunday.

Police said the man, 25, was shot multiple times in the head and body. Officials pronounced him dead at the scene. The woman, 24, was shot once in the lower back. Emergency personnel took her to Penn Presbyterian Hospital, where she and the unborn child have been stabilized, according to police.

Police say that occupants of a white vehicle began shooting the victims on the 7700 block of Lindbergh Boulevard. It's unclear how many people were in the white vehicle.

The victim then drove his vehicle in the Penrose Plaza in an attempt to escape but crashed his car in the parking lot of Wendy's. He then fled on foot back toward the 7700 block of Lindbergh Boulevard, according to police, where he collapsed and was shot several more times as he was on the ground.
