Eagles Week 10 Injury Report: Allen Barbre Is Ruled Out For Falcons Game
The Philadelphia Eagles' offensive line will be without starting left guard Allen Barbre for a second straight week. Barbre continues to be slowed down by a hamstring injury that will cost him playing time once again this weekend. He is hardly the only Eagles player dealing with a hamstring concern this weekend, with the Atlanta Falcons heading north to take on the Eagles Sunday afternoon at Lincoln Financial Field.
Barbre's absence will be filled by Stefen Wisniewski on the offensive line. Wisniewski started for the injured Barbre last week against the New York Giants. Barbre did not practice at all this week, suggesting there is a possibility his return may not be coming any time too soon, although hamstring injuries can be difficult to forecast. Barbre is one of five Eagles players dealing with a hamstring issue right now, which makes the injury report a bit of a mess. Fortunately for the Eagles, Barbre is just one of two players ruled out for this weekend's game as the Birds look to snap a two-game losing streak.
Safety Terrence Brooks has been ruled out of action for this weekend's game, hurting the depth in the secondary against one of the most talented and reliable passing attacks the NFL has to offer with Matt Ryan and Julio Jones. Brooks has also been used on special teams this season. To make up for his loss this week, the Eagles have added Aaron Grymes to the active roster. Grymes had been on the Eagles practice squad and he will be available to play on Sunday.
The Eagles could also be without linebacker Kamu Grugier-Hill, who is also slowed by a hamstring. After not practicing on Wednesday, Grugier-Hill was limited in action on Thursday and Friday. He is officially listed as doubtful, which may suggest he is unlikely to play on Sunday in any capacity.
Other Eagles with hamstring issues include tight end Trey Burton and cornerback Leodis McKelvin. Both are listed as questionable for this weekend. McKelvin has been limited in practices this week, but Burton had a full practice on Friday. The tight end position could be hurting this week with Burton and his hamstring injury, because Brent Celek (rib) is also working through some pain. The veteran tight end did not practice on Wednesday and was limited in Thursday and Friday sessions. He is listed as questionable for this weekend.
The Falcons have some injury concerns as well as they prepare to fly north. Running back Tevin Coleman (hamstring), tight end Jacob Tamme (shoulder) and cornerback Desmond Trufant (shoulder) have all been ruled out of action for Sunday. Defensive end Dwight Freeney is dealing with a quadricep, but there was no update on his status for Sunday.
