Eagles Tickets 7% Above Average For Sunday's Game Vs. Redskins
Provided by TiqIQ
The Philadelphia Eagles return home this week following a spirited win against the Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium last Monday. They welcome the Washington Redskins in an NFC East showdown this Sunday, which will serve as the third most expensive game on the secondary market at Lincoln Financial Field this season. On top of above-average secondary ticket price, Philadelphia will also host the homecoming of DeSean Jackson, whom the Redskins acquired after being released by the Eagles in the offseason. While such a reunion will undoubtedly be greeted by a sea of boos dressed in midnight green, it will be among the upper echelon of top-priced Philadelphia Eagles tickets on the secondary market this season.
According to TiqIQ, the average price for Eagles vs. Redskins tickets is currently $227.51 on the secondary market, 7% above the season average of $213.15 for Eagles tickets at home. The get-in price for the game is currently $111, which is the most expensive get-in price among all home Eagles games this year. The NFC East match-up trails just two other home games at Lincoln Financial Field this season. A Week 15 game against the Cowboys has an average secondary price of $239.79 while the Eagles host their top-priced game of the season against the Giants on October 12. Eagles vs. NY Giants tickets currently average $244.41 on the secondary market, 14.6% above season average.
The return of DeSean Jackson in an opposing uniform may have sounded far fetched last season as the Pro-Bowl wide receiver put up career numbers, but several moves within the Eagles’ organization that were aided by an increasing amount of media attention led the public to believe that the team was looking to cut ties with the 27-year-old wide out. It's still too early in the season to form a conscious opinion on the Eagles' decision to drop Jackson, though Sunday may be a telling sign as he returns to his former stomping grounds in Philadelphia.
Jackson has recorded nine receptions this year, catching eight of those balls last Sunday in Houston for 62 yards. Only time will tell how effective he will be for the Redskins this season but his contributions will be all the more important after quarterback Robert Griffin III went down with a potential season-ending ankle injury last week. Jackson also suffered an injury against Jacksonville, but he is likely to play in Philly. The Redskins enter Week 3 at 1-1 and will play their first divisional game this week against the 2-0 Eagles. The early-season NFC East match-up carries with it an added sense of expectation, which in-turn has manifested itself in the game’s high secondary ticket prices.
Sunday’s game will be the first meeting between the teams since Week 11 of last season, when the Eagles won 24-16 in Philadelphia. They’ll look to continue their success this weekend as they play for their third consecutive win to begin the season, a feat that hasn't been accomplished since 2004’s NFC Champion team.
