Drexel Defeats William & Mary To End 4-Game Skid
WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (AP) — Freddie Wilson scored a career-high 24 points, including a career best six 3-pointers, to help lead Drexel to an 80-66 victory over William & Mary on Saturday.
Tavon Allen had a season-high with 22 points and Rodney Williams added 18 for the Dragons (11-18, 9-9 Colonial Athletic Association), who played just six players and were missing four due to injury, including the conference's leading scorer Damion Lee, who is out for the season with a broken hand.
Drexel shot 49 percent from the field, and finished 21 of 26 at the free throw line. The 80 points scored were its second highest of the season.
Marcus Thornton scored 19 points to lead William & Mary (18-11, 12-6), which entered the last day of the regular season in a first place tie with UNC-Wilmington in the CAA.
Drexel led 37-21 at the half.
