Doctor Sees Uptick In Vasectomy Procedures Ahead Of NCAA Tournament
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A Wisconsin doctor says his clinic is seeing a huge uptick in vasectomy surgeries ahead of the NCAA basketball tournament.
He says the number of procedures scheduled at his practice increases dramatically just before March Madness begins.
A vasectomy is a fairly minor procedure and patients are usually done in an hour or two.
Then, they are given strict instructions to take it easy and avoid extra movement.
The doctor says patients who are interested in the tournament have no problem following those orders.
Dr. Tait Fors says, "Some of them absolutely admit it, some of them we're kind of asking if that had any part in their thought process. They say no, but you can see the twinkle in their eye."
According to doctors, Thursdays and Fridays are particularly busy days.
