Diggle Is Leaving Team Arrow

Philadelphia (CW Philly) — Throughout six seasons of Arrow, Oliver and Diggle have had their share of ups and downs. But last week's episode was a record low for the crime-fighting duo.

After Oliver confessed to Diggle that he would continue to look after Star City as the Green Arrow, things got heated. In the end, Diggle decided to leave Team Arrow and start working for A.R.G.U.S.

Entertainment Weekly had the opportunity to talk with David Ramsey, who plays Diggle, about what ultimately lead his character to leave the team.

"We saw just two different ideologies. And it came out bad, really in terms of they argue and they fought, and brothers do that. But at the core of it, it really is that there's more than one way to save the city... He's still committed to Oliver, to a certain degree, but even more so than Oliver, to the people of the city," Ramsey explained.

Ramsey also discussed what the future may hold for Diggle, including his relationship with Oliver.

"I think it [the relationship] absolutely will be repaired someday, but unlike other fights, where they've come back in a few episodes, they're gonna take their time doing this. I really think we're going to explore how A.R.G.U.S plays into what Team Arrow wants to do,"  Ramsey said.

Even though Diggle and Oliver had a major disagreement, they have the same goal: keep Star City safe.

"Oliver's kind of our Bruce Wayne character, so to speak, and he has a way of doing things. And it works, and sometimes it doesn't work. And that's all fine, but I think Diggle thinks, perhaps, there's another way. Right now, the way he sees it, where they can work together for the common good of the city, then do it, because they both really want the same thing," Ramsey elaborated.

Diggle may be working for A.R.G.U.S. now, but moving forward, he will continue to work with old team arrow and new team arrow.

"I think Diggle's position is, if there's intelligence that original team Arrow has, if there's intelligence that new team Arrow has, he's willing to work with whoever he can work with to save the city. Both teams will trust him," Ramsey said.

Arrow airs Thursday nights at 9 p.m. on The CW Philly.
