Despite Eligibility, Temple Football Not Invited To Bowl
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Temple Owls defeated Tulane on Saturday night to finish the season with six wins and bowl eligible. Head coach Matt Rhule rejoiced with his hands in the air after the victory with the hopes that his players would have the chance to compete in a bowl game.
Despite the victory, the Owls were not invited to play in a bowl game on Sunday as teams received their invitations.
Temple finished the season 6-6 with a 4-4 conference record.
Rhule announced the decision on Sunday afternoon.
