Delaware State Police Looking For Suspect Who Stabbed Home Depot Employee
NEWARK, DEL (CBS) -- Delaware State Police are currently investigating an attempted robbery and assault of a Home Depot employee. The incident occurred on Saturday, October 11th at approximately 3:30 p.m.
A 24 year old male employee of a Home Depot store in Newark, Delaware was walking around the exterior rear of the store when he was approached by a man. According to police, the suspect engaged the employee in conversation, asking him several questions.
Police say when the employee began to walk away, the suspect produced a knife and grabbed the employee from behind. Police add that the suspect then cut the victim several times with the knife before the victim was able to gain control of the weapon. The suspect then fled on foot into a wooded area.
The victim was removed from the scene by Emergency Medical Services and transported to the Christiana Hospital where he was treated for several non-life threatening knife wounds.
According to police, the suspect is between 40 and 50 years of age and has gray hair.
