Delaware County Detectives Serve Search Warrants At Chester Police Station

CHESTER, Pa., (CBS) -- Delaware County detectives served search warrants at the Chester Police Department on Tuesday.

Investigators from the Delaware County Prosecutor's office say they were focusing their investigation on the police department's evidence room, but they won't say why.

"At this point we've asked our police department to cooperate with them fully. We want this investigation, whatever it is, to occur and so we can get past it," Mayor of Chester John Linder said.

The warrants were served just before 2 p.m. Tuesday. The mayor says he found out about the search at that time and was given limited information because the warrants are sealed.

"It pertains to the evidence room or some information regarding the evidence room. Whether that information is missing or not, I do not have that knowledge," Linder said.
