Police: Woman Fatally Stabbed, Attacked With Hammer
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Homicide detectives are investigating after a woman was stabbed and attacked with a hammer in Philadelphia's Crescentville section.
Neighbors heard gut wrenching screams coming from the 5500 block of North Hill Creek Drive just after 7 a.m. Wednesday.

That's where detectives found a 57-year-old woman they say had been stabbed four times in the neck and had been assaulted with a hammer. The vicitm was later identified as Rosalind Wicks.
"I hear her daughter say he trying to kill my mom," said AJ Wright.
Without hesitation Wright, who grew up in the neighborhood, runs toward danger, trying to get inside the door when he catches a crime in action.
Wright says the suspect eventually jumps from a second-floor window and escapes.
"She was stabbed multiple times and there were other things at the crime scene as well but the stab wounds lead to the cause of death," said police.
Distraught neighbors are left wondering who could have done this to the woman affectionately known in the neighborhood as Ms. Roz. She's described as a churchgoing woman who was always seen walking her dog. Detectives removed the dog from the home, his white coat splattered with blood.
Police say the suspect was last seen in the area of 6th Street and Lindley Avenue.
No arrests have been made.
