Police Investigate Deadly Accident On I-95 In Mercer County

HOPEWELL, N.J. (CBS) - Police say I-95 northbound in Mercer County was closed for several hours after a fatal accident overnight.

This happened just before 3 a.m. near exit 4 in Hopewell Township.

Police say a car ran into a tractor trailer that was parked on the side of the road, which caused the striking car to burst into flames.

The driver of the car couldn't escape, police say, and was pronounced dead on the scene.

No other injuries were reported

All lanes are now reopen on the highway in the area of the accident.

An investigation continues.
