CW Takes The Teen Choice Awards

Philadelphia (CW Philly) -- The Teen Choice Awards was a big win for the CW on Sunday night as multiple shows took home awards.

The freshman series "Riverdale" was among the top winners, dominating the show by taking home seven awards, including the Choice Drama TV Show, Breakout Show, Choice Drama TV Actor (awarded to Cole Spouse), and Choice Breakout TV Star (awarded to Lili Reinhart).

"The Flash" took home two awards, including Choice Action TV Show and Choice Action TV Actor awarded to Grant Gustin.

CW's "Supergirl" and "The Vampire Diaries" also scored awards that night.

The annual ceremony recognizes teen icons in film, television, music, sports, fashion, comedy and the web, honored film and TV titles. The winners of the 2017 Teen Choice Awards were announced at University of Southern California's Galen Center in Los Angeles during a live broadcast on Fox following 63 million Twitter votes from teens across the country.

Many actors, actresses, musicians and personalities took home the coveted Teen Choice surfboard trophy.

Grammy Award-winning band Maroon 5 received the Decade Award, Bruno Mars was honored with the Visionary Award, and Vanessa Hudgens was also recognized for her work and presented with the first-ever #SeeHer Award.

A number of other big-name winners were not on hand to pick up their trophies in person, including Gal Gadot, Beyonce and Ed Sheeran.

This was a phenomenal night for CW and its shows, especially those brand new to the network.
