Cowboys CB Orlando Scandrick Suspended 4 Games For PEDs
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- The Dallas Cowboys announced their starting cornerback, Orlando Scandrick, has been suspended for using performance enhancing drugs (PEDs). Cowboys owner Jerry Jones revealed the news on Monday, meaning Scandrick – who has been the Cowboys' best cornerback in training camp – will miss the four first games of the 2014 NFL season.
Scandrick, a 2008 fifth-round draft pick, has played all six of his NFL seasons with the Cowboys. He started all 16 games in 2013, accumulating 64 tackles, two sacks, two interceptions, and 12 pass deflections.
Scandrick appealed the ruling, but Jones learned Monday that the NFL has denied that appeal. The Cowboys will rely on Morris Claiborne and Brandon Carr at cornerback, in Scandrick's absence.
