PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- Philadelphia City Council President Darrell Clarke made the rounds with some of his favorite people inside the Shissler Recreation Center off Frankford Avenue, where service providers had some good advice for seniors at the "Golden Life" Senior Fair.

They lined up for line dancing while getting a line on a broad range of health and quality-of-life information.

"We're in the process of selling our house, and I just want to make sure everything is on the up and up," said the Meyers. Barbara and John have lived in their Fishtown home for 36 years. "We're going to get some legal service, because so many people are taken advantage of."

Bob White, who already belongs to two other senior centers in Spring Garden and North Philadelphia was doing some reconnaissance for those advancing in age. "It's keeping them active plus educating them."

Council President Clarke, who lost his mother when he first got elected, says he enjoys hanging out with seniors. "They've taken the responsibility of watching over me over the years, and I just want to be in a position to return the favor."
