Complete 2015-16 Philadelphia Flyers National TV Schedule
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The National Hockey League and NBC today released the national television schedule for the 2015-16 NHL season. The Flyers are currently scheduled to play in front of a national audience 18 times this season, including twice in weekend games on NBC.
The Flyers will be featured on national TV in a number of marquee matchups. Both games against the defending Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks are part of the NBCSN lineup, as are both their visits to Detroit this season. The Flyers will play seven divisional games on national television, three of which are against Washington and two of which come against the New York Islanders. They will face the New York Rangers and Pittsburgh once each on national TV.
Seven of the eighteen games will be exclusively televised on NBCSN as its Wednesday Night Rivalry. The coverage will return for a third season and will feature some of the biggest rivalries in the NHL. The network will air exclusive coverage on Wednesday nights for 24 weeks, with games usually starting at 8 p.m. Last year's Wednesday Night Rivalry coverage averaged 565,000 viewers, including NBCSN's opening night presentation of Bruins-Flyers, which averaged 956,000 viewers to mark the most-watched cable season opener on record. Seven of last year's 10 most-watched NHL regular-season games on NBCSN were Wednesday Night Rivalry matchups.
