Community Says Goodbye To One Of Youngest Victims Of Orlando Massacre

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A community says farewell to the youngest victim of the Orlando massacre.

They came to remember a promising life cut short.

"Gone too soon. So young. gone too soon."

Alma Scott was among those at Monumental Baptist Church at 50th and Locust, to pay their respects at the funeral of Akyra Murray, the 18-year-old West Catholic grad who was among the 49 killed in Orlando.

"The love and support. That's what you need right now. Love and support. It's all you can give."

Steve Rivers, whose son was Akyra's classmate, says perhaps her tragic death can yield a movement for change.

"Like they say, there's strength in numbers. So we all have got to come together as a group to voice our opinion and make some changes in the world."

For now, the community is coming together to find comfort in the face of tragedy.
