9-year-old girl shot after gun accidentally discharges outside North Philadelphia McDonald's: police
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Philadelphia police have arrested a man in a shooting that injured his girlfriend's 9-year-old daughter. Police said 32-year-old Derrick Marshall was walking alongside the girl when his gun accidentally discharged in the parking lot of a North Philadelphia McDonald's on Wednesday.
The girl was hit in her right leg.
Police were called to a shooting at the McDonald's on the 3100 block of North Broad Street around 6:17 p.m.
The girl was transported to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children after Marshall took her to Temple University Hospital, police said. The girl is expected to be OK.
Police said the shooting was accidental. They found two guns when arresting Marshall and said the car that was taken to Temple University Hospital was held by officials.
Marshall's charges include gun charges, aggravated assault, endangering welfare, simple assault, tampering with evidence, and more.
