Child Found Unresponsive In Pool In New Castle County
NEW CASTLE, Del. (CBS) -- Authorities say a child, believed to be about four-years-old, was found unresponsive in an in-ground pool in Newark, Delaware Wednesday morning.
Officials say New Castle County Paramedics were called to the 900 block of Capitol Trail, in the Delaplane Manor community, for the report of a child drowning.
Upon arrival, paramedics found the child without a pulse and not breathing.
Authorities say resuscitation efforts were performed by EMS units on the scene and the child was rushed to the Christiana Hospital in extremely critical condition.
Delaware State Police are investigating the incident.
