Chickenpox Outbreak At Federal Prison Affecting Courts Cases
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A chickenpox outbreak in Philadelphia is causing some court cases to be delayed.
The Federal Detention Center says in a recorded message that no visitors are being permitted into the Center City facility on Wednesday.
The center says several chicken pox cases have been reported among inmates.
The outbreak is also affecting court cases. A Delaware judge canceled Wednesday's scheduled hearing for Lee Robert Moore, who is held at the detention center. The Secret Service officer is charged with trying to solicit sex from an undercover agent he thought was a 14-year-old girl.
The prison houses more than 1,000 inmates. There is no word how many have contracted the highly contagious disease.
