Student cut by can opener following fight at Chester High School

CHESTER, Pa. (CBS) -- A student was stabbed during a fight involving four people at Chester High School on Thursday morning, sources tell CBS3. The fight reportedly began around 10:30 a.m. but as police initially investigated the incident, a weapon was not found. 

A source tells CBS3 police reviewed security footage that shows the knife being used in the fight. 

Earlier in the afternoon, a spokesperson with Chester Upland School District told CBS3 the student was being treated for a laceration that was from a can opener. 

The school was placed on lockdown for about one hour during the incident report, but the lockdown has since been lifted. 

Students were previously scheduled to be off on Friday. 

The spokesperson tells Eyewitness News parents were kept updated via email and on social media accounts. School officials are grateful to the school's internal security team who were able to quickly contain the incident after it occurred.
