By R.J. McKay

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Janelle McCoy, the executive director of the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, shared some information on what to expect at the 50th Anniversary Concert on May 10th at Verizon Hall.

"The Toccata Festiva by Samuel Barber, which is an organ piece which showcases Alan Morrison. We're also doing the Beethoven Triple Concerto, a well-beloved Beethoven Fifth Symphony, and then our own music director Dirk Brosse is conducting his piece, The Philadelphia Overture," McCoy explained.

Martha Hitchens, the principal tympanist for the Chamber Orchestra, explained why the group has been successful for so long.

"Well, the good news is the standards are still high, and it's a very special group – a group of all ages," Hitchens says.
