Central Bucks District Weighs Career Future of School Counselor After Online Rant

By Melony Roy

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. (CBS) -- A Bucks County school counselor who threatened online to "personally shoot" protesters staging a die-in after an Eagles' football game may soon be out of a job.

The superintendent of the Central Bucks School District, in Doylestown, is recommending the termination of Marykate Blankenburg at tonight's board meeting.

Blankenburg has been on administrative leave from Central Bucks West High School since December, after her private Facebook post -- threatening to harm protesters outside an Eagles' game -- went viral.

The Montgomery County district attorney office also investigated the situation but did not file charges.

The Central Bucks School board meets at 7:30pm and is expected to vote on the termination of Blankenburg tonight.
