CBS 3 Pet Project: Dog Found In Trash Continues To Recover At PSPCA
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The emaciated dog found in a trash bag last month at a Philadelphia park continues to recover at the Pennsylvania SPCA.
In the two weeks she has been at the shelter hospital, Cranberry has gained weight and made other improvements. She gets occasional visits from the woman who found her while out walking her own dog at Wissahickon Valley park.
Carol Erickson, animal advocate and friend of the PSPCA, says charges against the person responsible for starving and dumping Cranberry are likely to be filed next week.
In addition to the usual list of adoptable dogs and cats, the PSPCA has recently taken in three thoroughbred horses, named after the "Grease" characters, Sandra Dee, Rizzo and Frenchie who may be up for adoption soon.
Erickson stresses the importance of humane law enforcement and their ability to rescue animals from various situations.
