Camden Students Show Some Love To Those Less Fortunate

CAMDEN, N.J. (CBS) - Some middle school students in Camden took part in a special project that gave them a chance to give back to their community.

Sixth, seventh and eights graders at St. Anthony of Padua helped make heart-shaped pillows for Children at Cooper University Hospital on Thursday.

"I designed flowers and hearts 'cause I think the kids should be happy and not depressed when they're in the hospital," 7th grader Dorca Aragon tells KYW Newsradio.

Dorca says it's a good feeling to be able to help someone going through a tough time and she knows her pillow will find the perfect home:

"I hope the child feels very happy, surprised and very excited for the pillow."

The students helped make more than 50 pillows for the kids at Cooper.

Hospital representatives say giving the kids something soft to squeeze and hug really helps to take away some of their pain.
