Rain & Fog Hold Up Last-Minute Shoppers And Holiday Travelers

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --  The weather is what's on everyone's mind as they head home from work or to the shopping malls on the eve of Christmas Eve.

Just a day and a half before Christmas and I-95 was tail lights as the masses were trying to get out of the city, headed home or to the mall.

Either way it was slow going.

It took Joanne Moore over an an hour for trip that normally takes 20 minutes through Voorhees to Cherry Hill, New Jersey.

"Everybody just waited until last night, like myself, and rain doesn't help," she told Eyewitness News.

But even with traffic, everyone seemed to be in the holiday spirit, enjoying the warmer weather and the absence of snow.

At the airport, fog and rain held travelers up with long lines and flight delays.

And even at 30th Street Station- trains were booked with people heading home or to holiday destinations.
