Buckingham Township police investigating double murder-suicide inside home in Bucks County

Double-murder suicide shocks Bucks County neighborhood

BUCKINGHAM TOWNSHIP, Pa. (CBS) — A man shot and killed his son and wife before dying by suicide inside a home on Charter Club Drive in Buckingham Township on Monday, according to the Bucks County District Attorney's Office.

Buckingham Township police responded to a 911 call from an elderly caller about an unresponsive person in the 3900 block of Charter Club Drive shortly before 10:30 a.m. Monday. Upon arrival, officers were met by the caller.

According to the DA's office, police found two men and a woman dead with gunshot wounds to the head.

Investigators claim 59-year-old Steven Chow fatally shot his son, 21-year-old Raymond Chow, and his wife, 63-year-old Amy Troung, while they were in their beds. He then died by suicide, according to the DA's office.

Neighbors said they are still trying to process the unthinkable news that unfolded so close to their homes.

"Shocked. Shocked. Jaw-dropping shocked," one neighbor said. "It's a very quiet neighborhood, you never see anything through here."

"They seem like a normal family, so it's shocking. I am a little shaken as I talk about them," another neighbor said.

A person who lives nearby described the family to CBS News Philadelphia as quiet. She said her son went to school with Raymond Chow.

The investigation remains active and ongoing, and the DA's office says anyone with information can call its office or Buckingham Township police.
