Man Sentenced To Life In Slaying Of 14-Year-Old Teen In Berks County Alley

READING, Pa. (AP) - A man has been sentenced to life in prison in the shooting death of a 14-year-old youth lured into an alley and gunned down in Berks County, Pennsylvania 3 1/2 years ago. A Berks County jury last fall convicted 26-year-old Reynold Henry of second-degree murder and firearm offenses in the July 2017 death of Bruce Criddell Jr.

Prosecutors said Henry arranged on a social media site to sell the teen a 9 mm pistol. They said Criddell and another person met Henry in a Reading fast-food restaurant and the three then went into an alley, but the defendant immediately opened fire.

Senior Judge James Bucci sentenced the defendant Tuesday to the mandatory term of life in prison without possibility of parole.
